It's what life has left me recently, a big, steamy bowl of shit.
A few things have happened recenty family-wise, but only one bears mentioning here as it effects my access to internet. Roughly 2 weeks ago a couple of assholes broke into our house and robbed us while we were all at work. Wasn't too bad, but bad enough to leave me still somewhat emotionally violated. . .I've been through this before with a car once, but this is the home I was raised in- we bought it before it was even built- And as such it just makes me want to severely maim someone even more. . .
They ransacked my parents dresser and stole all my moms jewelry, stole my laptop. . .And more importantly, stole a *shit load* of ammunition and gun parts from my dad. Luckily, they couldn't break open the gun cabinet to grab any valuable firearms. What was taken were antiques or unusable. But with over 300 rounds of 7.63X39 and with countless boxes of .12 gauge shells, I'm going to feel kinda crappy if someone commits a crime around here with an AK or .12 gauge shotgun knowing we may not or may have (unwillingly) supplied them with the ammo to do it. . .
Oddly enough that was all that was taken. They didn't bother with our T.V. or my mom's PC that I'm using right now. It seemed to be your classic "smash and grab" job. Of course our local Sheriff's Dept. is pretty much like "Sorry about that- here's a report to turn in to your home insurance company. Have a nice day." about it all.
But what really pisses me off to no end about my laptop is the loss of data. More explicitly my photos and images. Majority of them are lost forever -couldn't back them up 'cause hardware issues. What little that survived is here on dA. . . Everything else that was on it can be replaced, but the loss of pictures is what grieves me the most. Its like someone taking your family photo album of over 50+ years and setting it on fire. You'll never get those back. I've kept an eye out for my pc on ebay and craigslist, but nothing so far. . .Even checked my log-in's on websites and it seems like they haven't been messing with it. I can only assume by now its been wiped clean and sold for pennies on the dollar.
My apologies to the good folks over at
- I've been pretty lackluster as a contributor there and recent events haven't helped any. . . Not to mention the hundreds of deviations to look at.
Till' next time, take care of yourself, and each other.
