MG RAY Parts

With 16 sprues (2 per bag) compared to REX's 20+, I don't think RAY will take as long to build, but painting and marking may prove a different matter. . .One thing that surprised me upon digging through the box was the decal sheet. It has the OUTER HAVEN insignia's and stencil markings which weren't apparent on any of the test/promo photos I ever saw of the kit. Also included were splinter-like camouflage decals which should help greatly.

This time 5 mini figs are included with 3 Haven troopers with their usual armament of FN P90 sub-machine guns, Liquid Ocelot in his fist-pumping "SNAAAAKE!" pose and our hero, Old Snake carrying his trusty M4 carbine. Sorry, no Metal Gear Mk. II mini fig. . . The 2 clear blue hexagon bases for RAY to be mounted on strikes me as a bit odd, ever since I saw the promo photos- they seem more fitting for the original version of RAY from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Which leads me to the only complaint -if I could actually call it a complaint- I have: I wish *it was* the original US Marines prototype from MGS2. The original with its segmented, whip-like tail is much cooler looking than the later US Navy and Outer Haven variants. Hopefully, Kotobukiya might put out another version. With 3A Toys doing the same MGS4 variant, I think Kotobukiya missed out not doing the original.  Just my . . .
