Description

Next up was my 2nd F-4 build (the first one didn't survive, sadly) that I attempted. This one being the USN F-4J "MiG Ace" kit. . .It's also one I wouldn't mind taking another crack at as "Showtime 100" as she was known was a historic aircraft. Had she of survived that day Cunningham & Driscoll became the US Navy's first aces of the Vietnam War, I have no doubt she'd be in a museum somewhere.

If I get a chance again I'd like to build it a lil' more accurately possible than I did back in the day. I tried to load it up with all the ordinance on the sprues available to me. Internet wasn't around back then, and I didn't take any time whatsoever for research. . .Plus it looked cool with all the bombs and missiles- and I wasn't aware of Revellogram's practice of re-boxing kits over and over, leaving extra parts from different versions. lol I thought this was one of my better built kits at the time probably because I didn't do so much painting- all the gray is bare plastic.

As was the custom at the time when I was young I would build all my aircraft gear-up whenever possible as they would hang from the ceiling.

I've built the Monogram/Revell F-4 gear up.  The nose gear is a real pain to put up.  These are nice kits though!
